Hyaluronic acid plays an important part in keeping the skin plump, youthful and moisturised. As we age the amount of hyaluronic acid in our skin diminishes, the skin generally becomes drier and the fat pads in our cheeks tends to start to lose volume and gravity starts to pull at the skin causing it to sag and lines can appear. Dermal filler treatments can help create definition and refresh your appearance, so that your skin looks much younger, fuller and smoother.

What are ‘Dermal fillers’

Injectable fillers are natural or synthetic, fully biodegradable gels which are easily injected using very small needles to replenish the lost volume and literally fill out those lines and hollows, resulting in an instantly smoother and much more youthful appearance. They are non-animal-based products which are perfectly safe, so there is no better or more natural way to transform your looks and get rid of those lines.

How does it work?

Dermal filler treatments give immediate results by restoring volume to areas of your face affected by loss of plump, supple skin. They act as a substitute for the skin's own collagen and can be used safely around eyes, lips, cheeks and neck. Dermal fillers are injected under the surface of the skin, (or just below it depending on treatment area). The filler plumps up the layers of skin immediately beneath the area and the result is an instant filling-out effect so that the skin is smoother, less wrinkled and more youthful.

What areas can be treated with Dermal Fillers?

The most common areas we treat are the cheeks, nasolabial lines (nose to mouth), marionette lines (below the mouth), lips, tear trough and jowls.

If you suffer from any of the following problem areas, then dermal fillers may be the right treatment option for you.

  • Nose to mouth lines, cheek lines, frown lines
  • "Smoker's Lines"
  • loss of cheek volume
  • loss of volume generally
  • tear troughs
  • bunny lines
  • lip Enhancement

How many Dermal Filler treatments will I need?

Normally only one treatment is necessary to get the results you want. The amount of filler we inject depends on the patient and your expectations will be discussed at your consultation.

Will the Dermal Filler treatment hurt?

Before we start the treatment we offer an anaesthetic cream or injection to numb the area to be treated. This makes the injections more comfortable for the patient. Some redness and swelling can be expected after the treatment but most patients can return to work directly after the treatment.

How long will the Dermal Filler effect last for?

The results of the treatment are apparent immediately with optimum results being achieved at 7 days, leaving your face looking younger and re-contoured. The effects may last from several months to years, depending on the product used and the condition of the skin and the individual’s lifestyle. Effects are not permanent, and the procedure may need to be repeated in the future if you want to maintain the effect.

How long do treatments take?

A filler treatment takes around 30 min to one hour, depending on treatment area.

What are the side effects or complications of a Treatment?

Side effects are usually minor, and can include redness, swelling, pain, itching, tenderness and discolouration at the injection site. Bruising can occur and is more likely if clients take Vitamin E, Aspirin, Non Steroid Anti Inflammatory Drugs or drink alcohol prior or post procedure. These should be avoided for 7 days prior to the procedure. Bruising is likely if you take Warfarin. The side effects are usually mild and last a few hours or days. Hypersensitivity and allergic reactions are extremely rare.

How much will it cost?

At your consultation we will discuss your treatment plan and the amount of filler that you would need to get the results you want.

The cost will be confirmed at your consultation. Prices start from:-

£150.00 per syringe – (0.5ml syringe of Hyaluronic Acid).
